Notes on making music by hand in the age of AI

AI is everywhere in music right now: in the tools, in the playlists, in every second conversation between musicians. You can't make music today without running into it.

This blog is where I try to make sense of that. What does it do to us as a society, and what does it do to art? I write from my own experience as someone who plays, sings and builds his guitars by hand. I follow what is actually happening in the industry. And I ask artists, producers and other people in the business for their view. They don't have to agree with me.

One thing you should know: I do use AI on this blog, as a translator and to help me research and check sources. My first language is German, and my English alone wouldn't carry these texts. What I don't use it for is anything creative. The opinions here are mine, and in my music every note is played and every word is sung by real people.
